At Progressing Through Therapy, our Black Women Depression Greensboro Lunch and Learn event offers a welcoming, culturally informed space to talk openly about mental health. We recognize that Black Women Depression Greensboro services must address the unique challenges Black women face, and we’re committed to providing education, compassionate support, and helpful resources to guide you on your healing journey.

Depression doesn’t always look like sadness. For many Black women, depression hides behind strength, irritability, overachievement, and emotional numbness. Our Black Women Depression Greensboro Lunch and Learn provides a powerful, affirming conversation that breaks the stereotypes and explores the realities too often overlooked. We’ll discuss how depression can present differently in Black women, why traditional DSM-5 criteria sometimes miss the signs, and how cultural, spiritual, and historical factors shape these experiences.

You’ll learn how grief—especially delayed or role-related grief—can evolve into depression, how self-medicating behaviors and masking affect mental health, and why the “Strong Black Woman” identity can both protect and harm. We want you to walk away with real tools for reclaiming your healing and feeling empowered in your mental health journey.

Key Topics We’ll Cover:
✅ Uncommon symptoms of depression in Black women
✅ The Strong Black Woman Schema & Superwoman Syndrome
✅ How grief becomes depression, including delayed and role-related grief
✅ Cultural, spiritual, and historical factors in diagnosis
✅ Healthy coping strategies that honor your whole self

If you’re ready to explore mental health in a safe, supportive environment designed for Black women, join us for this meaningful Black Women Depression Greensboro event. Let’s work together to build understanding, reduce stigma, and support your well-being.
