Understanding Theoretical Orientation for Emerging CLinicans

$15.00

You know the names – Person-Centered, CBT, REBT, ACT, DBT, Solution-Focused – but what does it actually mean to practice from a theoretical orientation?

This 90-minute workshop helps emerging clinicians move beyond simply identifying techniques and begin understanding the theory behind what they do in the therapy room.

We’ll explore how common theoretical approaches understand clients, explain distress, create change, and define the roles of the therapist and client. We’ll also examine the difference between theory, therapeutic stance, technique, and empirical support, including what it really means to say, “I’m Person-Centered.”

Each theory will include a brief From Theory to the Note example:

What did you do? → Why did you do it? → How did the client respond?

Interactive Mentimeter activities will provide opportunities to test your understanding along the way.
