You Cannot Control the Other Parent. So What Can You Control?
What Can I Control? is a 60-minute educational and skills-based workshop for anyone navigating a co-parenting relationship.
The workshop introduces the concept of locus of control and explores how recognizing what is — and is not — within your control can change the way you approach co-parenting.
Participants will examine the difference between trying to control another person's choices and taking ownership of their own responses, boundaries, expectations, communication, and decision-making.
During This Hour
- Learn the difference between internal and external locus of control
- Identify what is within your control in a co-parenting relationship
- Examine expectations you may be placing on yourself or the other parent
- Explore boundaries, communication, and decision-making
- Consider the difference between reacting to another parent and choosing your own response
- Reflect on how ongoing co-parenting conflict may affect both parents and children
This Is Interactive — Without Requiring You to Tell Your Business
The workshop combines conversation, skills-based education, and interactive Mentimeter activities.
Participants can engage with questions and reflection activities without being expected to publicly disclose the private details of their co-parenting relationship.
Anyone Navigating Co-Parenting
This workshop is designed for people who are currently navigating a co-parenting relationship and want practical ways to think differently about control, responsibility, boundaries, and their own responses.
You do not need to be in crisis or have a highly conflictual co-parenting relationship to benefit from the discussion.
